Vatican tells bishop to retract Holocaust statement

A British-born Roman Catholic bishop who has said he does not believe that millions of Jews died in Nazi gas chambers has been told to publicly recant his views by the Vatican.

Pope Benedict XVI has faced uproar in his native Germany and severe criticism from Jewish groups over his decision last week to lift the automatic ex-communication of Richard Williamson, who is understood to be based in Argentina….
