Greta Garbo was a living legend. Adorned by men and women alike. She was loved by millions as a major Hollywood actress of the 20s, 30s. Garbo starred in more than 31 films.
Mercedes de Acosta fell in love with the great Garbo and told her so and begin writing Garbo love poems. Garbo denied her affection for Mercedes.
However, many believe that there was an affair and that Garbo/Acosta relationship finally ended when De Acosta wrote about all her lesbian affairs in her autobiography 'Here Lies the Heart' (1960).
At the time of her death at age 84 in 1990, Garbo willed more than $20,000,000 to her neice. It was well known that Garbo lived the last years of her life in absolute seclusion.
